HakoCut · early access · mac · windows · ios · android
Too much footage.
Not enough time.
Describe the cut you need — dead air gone, multicam synced, captions fixed. HakoCut runs 500+ reviewable workflows on a real multi-track timeline. Ask what's in your footage first; edit only when you're ready. Free to export, no watermark.
An honest pitch
You have three camera angles, two hours of interview, and a publish deadline tomorrow. Most AI editors hand you a black-box MP4 and call it done.
HakoCut starts with your problem. Ask mode helps you find the right moments without touching the timeline. Edit mode maps 500+ workflows — silence removal, topic cuts, beat sync, captions — onto the real editor underneath. Review every step, undo any of them, or hit Execute All.
Stuck? Ask what's in the footage.
“Which clip has the product demo?” → “Cut the dead air and tighten the boundaries.”
Not sure where to start? Ask mode is read-only Q&A over transcripts and indexed frames — no accidental edits. When you know what you want, Edit mode returns a numbered workflow from 500+ actions. Review it, run it, or step through one at a time.

Drowning in raw angles?
“Folder of 3-camera interview → synced, topic-labeled, trimmed timeline in 4 minutes.”
Stop manually lining up multicam and scrubbing for usable takes. Drop the folder — sync, topic labels, silence and filler cuts, speaker-aware switches — then land on an editable timeline. Every destructive step has a review gate before apply.

- —Transcript-first cut

Started on desktop. Finish on the train.
“Rough cut at your desk. Caption fix on the phone. Same project.”
Editing shouldn't stop when you leave your chair. Sign in once — rough cut on Mac, tweak on Android, restore a checkpoint from anywhere. Local-first by default; your media stays on device unless you opt into sync.

Built for problems, not demos.
CapCut-level ease when you want it. Premiere-shaped depth when you need it. 500+ agent workflows that know how to use the timeline, LUTs, transitions, and export — because you still have to ship the video.

Ask mode is read-only chat over your project — transcripts, VLM frame descriptions, grouped assets, and timeline structure. Ask “which clip has the demo?” or “summarize act two” without risking an accidental edit. Switch to Edit mode when you want workflows that change the timeline.
In Edit mode you chat in natural language. The model returns a JSON workflow with steps like remove_silence, trim_clip, add_transition. You review and execute. Each step mutates your real timeline. Ask mode never runs those steps automatically.
On mobile, the agent runs on-device after a model download. On desktop, local MLX models handle inference when available. Cloud is fallback for generative features.
Drop a folder of raw footage on the home screen. HakoCut syncs angles, transcribes, chunks by topic, and trims — then opens a real editable timeline. Chat can add stock, captions, and effects on that project.
Editing is free, no watermark on export. AI generation uses credits, and you get some to start.
Yes. On Mac and Windows, imported media is stored on disk with a native manifest — not just browser storage. Reopen the app and your assets, timeline, and Ask-mode index come back.
CapCut paywalls basics and locks you into templates. HakoCut solves editor problems — messy folders, dead air, multicam, caption fixes — with 500+ reviewable workflows on a real multi-track timeline, Ask mode for safe Q&A, and free export with no watermark.
Yes, when you sign in. Rough cut on Mac, caption fix on Android, same project. Sync is opt-in; files stay local by default.
Yes. Teams plans add shared workspaces with roles (owner, admin, editor, viewer), an activity feed, and a video-editor-friendly version history with one-click restore. Restores fan out to every signed-in device — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.
No. Every checkpoint and every unnamed edit is kept. Restore picks an existing version as the new head and your timeline jumps to it; the previous state is still in the timeline and one click away. If you were mid-edit, the app shows a conflict-safe prompt before swapping.
